Farm Argon Crystals in Void missions, looking for resource deposits and breaking containers while completing the objective. Choose an unlocked Exterminate for a bounded search, or a comfortable Void Survival if you prefer collecting enemy drops over a longer run. Collect Argon when your other crafting ingredients are ready because unused crystals decay.
The Wiki resource directory lists Void Survival and Exterminate as community farming recommendations and identifies Argon Pegmatite deposits. This page turns those source-backed options into a practical route. It does not claim a measured fastest node or a guaranteed number of crystals per mission.
01
Decide how much Argon you actually need
Open the Foundry recipe and count the crystals missing for the item you want to start. Check every other material and the required Credits at the same time. If another ingredient will take several sessions to collect, farm that first.
For example, if the recipe is ready except for two Argon Crystals, make two your target. You can stop after finding them and successfully extracting. Building a large reserve for several unspecified future projects is inefficient because decay can erase the surplus before you have a use for it.
Also check whether you are looking at the final item or an intermediate component. A finished component and its individual resource requirements are different entries in a crafting plan. Write a short shopping list so that reaching your Argon target actually lets you press Build.
02
Choose a mission style that fits your loadout
| Route | Choose it when | Main task |
|---|---|---|
| Void Exterminate | You want a complete map search with a clear endpoint | Clear the objective, inspect rooms and collect deposits |
| Void Survival | You can maintain kills and life support comfortably | Keep enemies coming and collect drops in a controlled area |
| Another accessible Void mission | You are already progressing there | Search nearby containers without losing the objective |
The recommended location is the Void region on the Star Chart. Do not assume a Void Fissure on another planet changes that planet's ordinary resource pool into the Void's pool. A mission modifier and a mission location answer different questions.
Start with a difficulty you finish reliably. A more demanding mission can reduce your collection rate if you spend the run recovering, fighting slowly or retreating. You do not need an advanced difficulty setting merely because the recipe contains a rare resource.
03
Run a deliberate container search
Complete the immediate objective or make it safe before spending time exploring. Then move through nearby rooms in a consistent pattern. Break ordinary containers, look for Argon Pegmatite deposits, and move over the resulting pickups. The resource directory distinguishes deposits from other containers and describes loot detection and collection tools.
A route that checks side rooms can expose more opportunities than following only the shortest line to extraction. However, do not turn every run into an unlimited search. After inspecting the accessible areas and reaching the exit, bank what you found and decide whether another run is needed.
Loot detection is useful for noticing things you would otherwise pass, but a map marker is not a promise that the object contains Argon. Check the space around you and clear reachable containers. If a marker remains somewhere you cannot readily access, weigh the detour against simply continuing the mission.
04
Use Survival when you prefer enemy drops
In Survival, keep the objective stable first. Choose an area where your group can fight and collect without repeatedly scattering across the level. Watch life support and adjust your position if enemies are arriving too slowly.
A reliable weapon and a sustainable defensive setup are more valuable than a farming configuration that cannot remain active. When enemies begin taking too long to defeat, consider extracting and restarting at a manageable stage instead of staying solely because you have already invested time.
Nekros is an optional choice because Desecrate produces additional loot from fallen enemies. That benefit concerns eligible enemy loot. It does not establish an extra Argon roll from every container or multiply all mission-completion rewards. A container-search route and an enemy-drop route reward different strengths.
05
Understand decay before stockpiling
Argon is unusual because crystals in your inventory can disappear over time. The Wiki's decay explanation describes stable and decaying crystals and a daily UTC reset. It also explains that collecting a new crystal does not reset the old ones' aging.
The practical consequence is simple: gather Argon near the moment you intend to use it. Check the timer shown by your inventory rather than assuming each crystal has an identical countdown starting from the last pickup.
Once your recipe is ready, start construction instead of keeping its Argon requirement in inventory for another day. Do not farm extra crystals to “refresh” an old stockpile; the existence of newly collected crystals does not make the earlier ones newly collected as well. This guide intentionally avoids predicting an exact remaining total from a mixed-age inventory.
06
Stop when the crafting goal is complete
Before extracting, check the mission resource display and make sure the target amount was collected. Finish the mission normally and verify the total back in the Orbiter. Then return to the Foundry and start the intended item.
If you find more than you currently need, review blueprints you already planned to build. An existing useful project is a sensible use of surplus Argon. Buying unrelated blueprints merely to avoid seeing crystals decay can create more resource demands than it solves.
For a squad, mark a useful pickup and give teammates a chance to collect it. Communicate whether you are doing a short search or a longer Survival. A group with different expectations can spend more time waiting and backtracking than farming.
07
Troubleshoot an empty run
Finding no Argon in one mission does not show that the route is broken. Resource drops vary. Check three practical details first: you selected a Void-region mission, you searched or killed enough to create opportunities, and you collected the drops rather than rushing past them.
If several runs feel slow, change the part that wastes time. For a search route, shorten unproductive detours. For Survival, improve your clear speed or choose a better fighting area. Do not compare a boosted, coordinated run from a video with an unboosted solo run and assume the difference comes entirely from the node.
Keep the next goal specific. Use Endo to improve weak Mods, follow the beginner route if the Void is still inaccessible, and use the build guide to adapt your loadout. No resource-per-minute benchmark or current booster-stacking test was performed for this October 13 source check.
