Get Follie by completing Follie's Hunt at Vesper Relay on Venus for blueprint drops, or exchange Atramentum with Aspirant Zorba in a Relay for her missing blueprints. The mission and vendor require Chains of Harrow. Her kit combines ink-based crowd control, a defensive effigy, and a broad selection of summoned tools called Shadowgraphs.
This overview uses official Update 42, the official character page, and the community acquisition reference, checked October 13, 2026. The setup advice is a starting framework derived from her mechanics, not a tested damage build or a promise of optimal Steel Path performance.
01
Unlock Follie's Hunt and the vendor
Complete Chains of Harrow, then look for Follie's Hunt on the Vesper Relay node on Venus. The same quest makes Aspirant Zorba available in Relays. Zorba exchanges the mission's Atramentum resource for Follie and Enkaus blueprints, among other wares.
This is the permanent acquisition route described by the update. The update also introduced Operation: Atramentum, an event variant with its own timing and currency. Do not assume that an old event-shop instruction describes today's normal blueprint farm. Use the ordinary Follie's Hunt node and Zorba's current inventory for this route.
The community Follie reference lists the main blueprint at 1,200 Atramentum and each of the three component blueprints at 400. Buying the entire set would therefore cost 2,400 Atramentum. Treat that as the referenced vendor budget, and verify the displayed price before spending; random blueprint drops can reduce what you still need to buy.
02
Complete the three Shadowgraphs
Inside the mission, enter the Shadowgraph portal and locate the three canvases, marked A, B, and C after discovery. You must complete all three to extract. The Relay has two floors, connected by the elevators in its main hall, so a missing objective may be above or below your current route.
Find the paint pools, which have a distinctive sound and nearby marker. Approaching one transfers you into Operator or Drifter and coats you with paint. While coated, Void Sling and Transference are disabled. Plan a walkable return route rather than assuming your usual escape movement remains available.
Bring the paint to a canvas and stand nearby to deliver it. Getting downed removes the paint you are carrying, so protecting the delivery matters more than pursuing every enemy. The required amount scales with squad size. Watch the mission gauge to see which canvas still needs progress before repeating the route.
03
Survive the hunt and collect Atramentum
The pursuing Follie is invincible in this mission and has an aura that damages nearby players and drains Energy. The official description distinguishes her from additional Polyopia clones, which can be killed. Do not waste time trying to defeat the main pursuer when the objective is to finish the canvases and escape.
Facsimile statues also project harmful auras and can summon Follie when a paint carrier approaches. These statues can be destroyed. Recognizing the difference between the main pursuer, a killable clone, and a destructible hazard helps the squad clear a safer delivery route.
Atramentum comes from completing the mission, defeating enemies, and breaking Atramentum Balloons with weapon damage. The official launch completion reward is 5 on normal difficulty or 10 on Steel Path, with additional pickups possible. These completion amounts are not the total earnings of every run. Collect marked resource drops and review the actual haul after extraction.
04
Learn Follie's four abilities
| Ability | Official function | What to practice first |
|---|---|---|
| Forced Perspective | Repositions Follie through an ink frame, with invulnerability on emergence and nearby Inkblot application | Aim a useful escape or engagement location |
| Shadowgraph | Summons a selected tool from the sketchbook and splashes nearby enemies with ink | Select a tool that helps the current objective |
| Self Portrait | Creates a protective effigy and ink pool that grows through kills inside it | Establish a useful area, then fight within it |
| Plein Air | Lifts nearby enemies with balloons that spread ink when popped | Control a group and choose when to bring it down |
Her Inkblot passive ties the kit together: abilities coat enemies in ink, slowing them and giving affected enemies a chance to provide Health and Energy Orbs. Use the kit to spread ink while doing the mission, rather than viewing each ability as an unrelated damage button.
05
Choose Shadowgraphs for the mission
Hold Shadowgraph to open its wheel, select a tool, and release to cast it. Once selected, tapping the ability recasts that tool. The available Shadowgraphs unlock while Follie ranks up, with the full selection available at rank 30. A newly acquired Follie therefore does not start with every tool shown in a late-game demonstration.
The official list includes Life Support Capsule for Survival, Power Cell for Excavation, Conduit Key for Disruption, and Amphors for Alchemy or use as grenades. Other options include Universal Ammo, Arc Trap, Death Orb, Corralizer Armament, and mobility or distraction tools. Match the selection to the problem in front of you.
Reorder the wheel so your frequently used options are easy to find. Practice the hold-versus-tap behavior in a comfortable mission before relying on it in a difficult encounter. A correct tool selected quickly can matter more than adding another untested damage multiplier.
06
Build an initial loadout around one job
Begin by deciding whether this configuration is for objective support, crowd control, or general mission play. Keep enough survivability and energy support to use the kit consistently, then inspect how the ability statistics respond to your available Mods. Avoid stripping away a useful function merely to maximize one headline number.
For a support-focused trial, check whether Self Portrait covers the area where your squad actually fights and whether you can keep using the needed Shadowgraph. For mobile missions, practice Forced Perspective and quick tool selection. Make one change at a time so you can tell whether it improves the problem you observed.
Her signature Enkaus has a documented interaction with inked enemies, including its reload and low-health dissolve behavior. That gives it a clear thematic connection, but this guide does not treat ownership of the signature weapon as a requirement for learning Follie. Use a dependable weapon while testing the frame's own mechanics.
07
Sketchbook art and Helminth are separate choices
To customize a Shadowgraph's art, equip Follie in the Arsenal and select Shadowgraph, then choose the unlocked item you want to draw. This changes the projected artwork; it should not be treated as a hidden build upgrade. Learn the tool first, then personalize it.
Self Portrait is her Helminth ability, with altered behavior when transferred: the official notes specify a 75% damage-reduction cap and no Inkblot application for that version. Do not assume a subsumed Self Portrait reproduces Follie's entire defensive and ink interaction on another Warframe.
