Start your weapon shortlist with Hek for an early shotgun, Atomos for a beam secondary, Fulmin for a later rifle option, and Xoris when The Deadlock Protocol becomes available. Keep a weapon you already enjoy while developing the Mods that make it effective. A recommended name alone does not supply the complete build.

This is an editorial tier list for progression and task fit, reviewed on October 13, 2026. It is not a tested ranking of the strongest weapons in the current endgame. The selection favors distinct, understandable roles; it does not claim to cover every weapon, Incarnon form or recent release.

01

Read the table as an investment shortlist

S means a first candidate for the stated progression role. A means a useful learning or alternative choice. The same grade does not claim equal damage across different categories. Mastery values refer to the named base weapon; check the current blueprint panel before buying materials or a different variant.

The base Hek is different from Vaykor Hek and Kuva Hek. Fulmin is different from Fulmin Prime. A guide or build for one variant cannot be assumed to have the same requirements, capacity or performance on another.

02

Hek: choose it for a focused shotgun role

The Hek Wiki entry identifies its blueprint as a Market purchase. It is a clear early crafting target when you want to try shotgun combat without planning an entire late-game acquisition chain.

Before investing, decide whether you enjoy its firing and reloading rhythm. Use a normal mission where you already understand the objective. Pay attention to whether you are comfortable approaching targets and placing shots, rather than judging the weapon from one large damage number.

Build with compatible shotgun Mods. Rifle Mods from your Braton configuration cannot simply be moved into the same slots. Keep a secondary that gives you a useful alternative when the shotgun's handling is inconvenient. This is a reason to develop a balanced loadout instead of expecting one gun to make the other slots irrelevant.

03

Atomos: add a distinct secondary option

The Atomos reference describes its beam-based behavior and Mastery requirement. Consider it when you want your secondary to play differently from a deliberate-shot primary.

Try it in an ordinary mission before committing multiple Forma. Notice the distance at which you engage, how you keep the beam on targets and whether ammunition or handling interrupts the way you fight. A weapon that feels comfortable can be easier to develop than one you carry only because another player ranks it highly.

Treat any future Incarnon upgrade as a separate progression project. Owning the base Atomos does not mean its later adapter, evolution choices or advanced setup is already present. Consult the Incarnon rotation guide when that system becomes relevant to your account.

04

Fulmin: evaluate a later primary against your current one

The Wiki's Mastery Rank reference lists Fulmin at MR 8. Reaching that gate makes it a candidate to inspect; it does not prove that replacing a developed weapon immediately improves every mission.

Compare the cost of crafting and upgrading it with the specific limitation of your current primary. If your existing weapon already completes the content comfortably, trying a new one can be a matter of preference and account progression. If you need a new role, define it before committing upgrades.

Use the exact base-weapon name when searching for a build. A Fulmin Prime setup may assume different starting properties or polarities. Preserve the parts of a build that explain the weapon's intended use, then check every Mod and capacity requirement on the equipment you actually own.

05

Xoris: learn the quest weapon before replacing it

The Deadlock Protocol transcript documents receiving the Xoris blueprint, acquiring its parts and using it in the quest. Follow that sequence and learn the weapon's throw and detonation behavior through the instructions presented in the mission.

Keep the weapon while completing content that explicitly requires it. A generic melee recommendation does not replace a quest's named tool. If a step is failing, inspect the objective and the required interaction before concluding that you only need more damage.

For ordinary use afterward, distinguish a thrown-melee configuration from a normal combo-focused melee configuration. They can prioritize different actions. A successful build should explain what to press and when, not just provide eight Mod names with no combat sequence.

06

Starter weapons still have a learning role

The official Quick Start guide presents Braton, Paris, Skana and Bo as different starting choices. Use that variety to discover which attack rhythm you prefer. Your first decision does not permanently restrict the weapons you can acquire later.

Before abandoning a starter because enemies feel tougher, check its installed Mods. A newly crafted weapon with similarly neglected upgrades can feel weak for the same reason. Improve the foundation and compare equipment under similar conditions.

Equip complementary roles. If the primary is deliberate and slow, consider a secondary or melee option that handles immediate pressure comfortably. If you enjoy close combat, keep an answer for objectives and enemies that are awkward to approach.

07

Heavy slams need their own comparison

A general melee grade does not automatically rank heavy slam attacks. A slam setup depends on the action used, relevant Mods, the weapon's properties and the surrounding build. This page has not performed a current comparison of specialist slam weapons, so it does not label one as the measured best.

When reviewing a slam demonstration, check whether its result requires a particular Warframe buff, Arcane, combo state or enemy arrangement. Reproducing only the weapon name may omit the mechanism responsible for the result.

08

Upgrade after a practical test

Run a familiar mission with the candidate, confirm that you enjoy its controls and identify the first limitation. Then use the builds guide to plan capacity, useful Mods and a sensible investment order. If the missing input is upgrade currency, follow the Endo guide.

This shortlist avoids universal damage promises and expensive Riven requirements. Choose one weapon to develop, learn its attack loop and compare it against a clear task. That creates a more reliable upgrade decision than treating an unexplained tier label as a guarantee.
